Install Quarry
The Quarry installer covers Fedora desktop, gaming and server, plus openSUSE desktop and server. Check each downloaded ISO's listed editions and test results; older media can cover fewer editions. The ISO and its test results are on this page. If a download is missing from the listing below, that media is not published.
The candidate supports x86_64 UEFI with Secure Boot disabled, internet access, and installation to one whole disk with unencrypted ext4. Allow at least 40 GiB for desktop or gaming, and 20 GiB for server. Installation erases the selected disk. BIOS, ARM, encryption, dual boot and custom partitioning require separate work. Debian remains excluded by missing upstream package inventory. Desktop and gaming use KDE and Flatpak by default; there are no desktop QCOW2 downloads.
Quarry enables the managed thepeoples Flatpak remote and leaves Flathub disabled. Some managed applications need a Flathub runtime. Enable Flathub explicitly in Discover when needed; it can be disabled again after installation.

Download the ISO, SHA256SUMS.txt and SHA256SUMS.sig from the same release on the project page. Download the public signing key as oci.thepeoples.io.pub. With cosign installed, run these commands in that directory:
echo "f1503c9a201d4f514d28947ce70660711f54439cbd41e5aaaa32712c71bf2d96 oci.thepeoples.io.pub" | sha256sum --check
cosign verify-blob --key oci.thepeoples.io.pub --insecure-ignore-tlog \
--signature SHA256SUMS.sig SHA256SUMS.txt
sha256sum --check --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS.txtStop if any verification fails. Confirm the downloaded ISO appears in the checksum results with OK; --ignore-missing skips optional source, SBOM and test-result files you did not download. The signature uses Quarry's public key and does not assert transparency-log inclusion. Each release includes its exact installer source archive, package inventory and qualification receipt.
Install
- Write the verified ISO to a USB drive using your preferred image writer. This erases that USB drive. Boot it in UEFI mode and choose the normal or serial-console entry.
- Configure networking if needed using the offered network setup tool. Select an edition. Its displayed candidate tag is pinned to an exact signed image digest.
- Select the target disk by its path, size, model and serial number. Check it carefully; the installer excludes mounted disks and live media, but confirmation still erases the entire selected disk.
- Choose a hostname, administrator name and password of at least 12 characters. Optionally supply an SSH public key and explicitly enable SSH. Choose a timezone. A private registry mirror can use an explicitly supplied PEM CA certificate.
- Review the verified image digest and target disk, then type the exact
ERASE /dev/DEVICEconfirmation shown. Download and import temporary files use the selected disk. A failure after erasure leaves a partial installation that needs a retry. - Remove the installation media and reboot. Sign in with your administrator account; sudo uses that password and root remains locked. Desktop editions use KDE Plasma and Flatpak. Gaming also offers a gaming session; select Plasma for desktop use.
Saved network profiles are carried into the installed system. A private mirror's CA is trusted only for that registry.
